Listing a website on search engines has virtually become mandatory.   It is an essential component of any promotional campaign for very good reason. For one, it is free.  Listing of a website on a search engine does not take more than few minute and there are softwares that enlist websites on a few hundred search engines by the click of a mouse.  The results of enlisting on search engines are immediately observable.

A few points to note about search engine enlisting are given below:

• Due care must be taken to provide the relevant introduction to the website as a surfer will take a decision to visit your website based on it.  While executing a search on the search engine, a typical query may result in the addresses of a few hundred sites being displayed.  The surger may visit a few of the sites that in his perception meet his requrements based on the information provided by you.
