How to meet customers’ needs in today’s market?
Before I answer how to Meet customer’s needs? we need to remember this saying.
“There is only one boss – The customer.
And he can fire everybody in the company,
from the chairman on down,
simply by spending his money somewhere else.”
– Sam Walton, founder of Wal Mart.

The customer is your reason for being. He pays your bills and salaries and allows you to stay in business. Therefore it is necessary, that we understand what customers need so that we can meet those needs.
Below things are the most important needs that customers have:
1. Reliability – Customers want you to meet your commitments. They want what you had promised when it was promised. Maybe more, but not less.
2. Speed – It is not the question of days, weeks or months. Things need to be done right away. Yesterday would be even better . speed is a major competitive advantage for you. A salesperson can make feel that they understand their customers by:
- Returning phone calls
- Responding to the emails daily.
- Fulfilling their order immediately
- Maintaining proper tracking of all the needs.
3. Empathy – The ability to understand and share the feelings of your customer): you can not satisfy everyone all of the time, but you can put yourself in their shoes and understand their frustration, anger, and concern. so tell them what you will do to reduce their level of frustration. Provide them multiple solutions to get rid of those situations.
4. Knowledge – your knowledge bring you respect. It enables you to provide an answer and solve the problems quickly and easily.
5. Tangibility – The physical appearance of everything associated with you and your organization gives a message with respect to your attractiveness, neatness or worth. This is applicable to your products, premised, dress and everything else which customer can see and feel about.
6. Value – Customers do not mind paying you more if they feel that they are getting more from you. The more reliable, quick and courteous service you provide, related to your competitors, the more you can charge them.
Therefore all ways remind yourself of your customer’s needs. Learn from your mistakes and experiences, try to overcome them and learn to do better next time.
Every customer wants these basic needs:
- He needs to feel safe in all ways.
- He needs to be treated as special always.
- He needs to feel successful
- He needs to have the things done in the first attempt.
- He needs to get things effectively and efficiently.
If you meet these needs your sales will increase day by day, that is sure!
